Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
