Palestinian Hamas and Israeli officials begin indirect discussions in the Egyptian city on Trump's Gaza peace proposal.

Mediated discussions working toward a comprehensive deal on a US peace plan to stop the conflict in Gaza have started in the mediation venue of the negotiation site.
Middle Eastern and regional officials have stated that the discussions are centered around "establishing the groundwork" for a potential swap that would see the freeing of all detained individuals in exchange for a number of incarcerated individuals.
The group stated it agrees to the peace plan proposals to some extent, but has not responded to several crucial requirements - including its military demobilization and future role in Gaza.
